´óÄ̸£Àû¼§Regents Committee on Education Policy Meets September 21
Adelphi, Md. (Sept.
16, 2011) -- The ´óÄ̸£Àû¼§ (USM) Board of Regents
Committee on Education Policy at its next meeting will vote on a proposal to
create a College of Health Professions at Coppin State University and will
conduct discussions on several items, including a report on general education
at Frostburg State University.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 Wednesday,
September 21 in the Hilda and Michael Bogomolny Room (5th floor) of
the Student Center at the University of Baltimore, 21 W. Mt. Royal Avenue,
Baltimore, Md.
Under the proposed structure for a College of Health
Professions at Coppin State, it would house the School of Nursing and the
School of Allied Health. The current dean of the School of Nursing would become
dean of the new college.
Among the information items, the
committee will hear from Frostburg State provost Steve Simpson about that
institution's general education program. Many aspects of the program were
praised in the university's 2006 Middle States decennial review. The committee also will discuss ways to best
refine and understand its annual agenda for the current academic year.
