´óÄ̸£Àû¼§Board of Regents Meets Oct. 21 at Towson University, Holds Same-Day Separate Session at UMB on Proposed Merger
Adelphi, Md. (Oct. 18,
2011) -- The ´óÄ̸£Àû¼§ (USM) Board of Regents at its
next meeting will vote on the Frostburg State University facilities master plan
and a proposal to create a College of Health Professions at Coppin State
University.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, October 21 at Towson University in the West Village Commons, Room 404.
Under the proposed structure for a College of Health
Professions at Coppin State, the new college would house the School of Nursing
and the School of Allied Health. The board will discuss several information
items, including an update on the status of reports required by the 2011 Joint
Chairmen's Report of the Maryland General Assembly.
The regents will hear reports from the councils of
university system presidents, faculty, staff and students. The full agenda can

Also on Friday, October 21, the Board of Regents will
conduct a public hearing as part of its study of a potential merger of the
University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) and the University of Maryland,
Baltimore (UMB). The hearing is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at UMB. An

The hearing will be held in Ballrooms A and B of the second
floor of the Southern Management Corporation Campus Center. The center is
