´óÄ̸£Àû¼§Board of Regents Meets April 15
Adelphi, Md. (April
11, 2011) -- The ´óÄ̸£Àû¼§ (USM) Board of Regents at its
next meeting will present Regents Awards to 16 faculty members. The public
meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, April 15, in The Lobby at the
´óÄ̸£Àû¼§ at Hagerstown (USMH).
After a call to order, the board promptly will announce that
it is reconvening in closed, executive session. Upon resuming the public
session, the board will recognize the award-winning faculty. The awards are the
highest honor presented by the Board of Regents to exemplary faculty members.
Presented in four categories, the awards honor excellence in teaching;
scholarship, research or creative activities; public service; and mentoring.
In other business, the regents will take action on proposed
academic programs at several ´óÄ̸£Àû¼§institutions. The board also will vote on
self-support charges and fees for fiscal year 2012. The

Reports will be presented from the councils of university
system presidents, faculty, staff and students. After
the public meeting, the board will reconvene in executive session.
